.NOW...THE SHORT TERM FORECAST FOR THE GENESEE VALLEY AND NORTHERN FINGER LAKES. SNOW SHOWERS AND A GUSTY WIND WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE REGION THIS EVENING. SNOW FALL RATES WILL AVERAGE FROM A TRACE TO A QUARTER OF AN INCH PER HOUR. WINDS WILL INCREASE IN SPEEDS AS THE EVENING PROGRESSES WITH SUSTAINED WINDS FROM THE SOUTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH FREQUENT GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH. THIS WILL CREATE BLOWING SNOW IN ADDITION TO THE FALLING SNOW WHICH WILL GREATLY REDUCE VISIBILITIES ON THE ROADS.
